Saturday Noon Meals was established in 1994 by a small group of Christ United Methodist Church members with the vision of providing those in need with a safe place to gather and share not only a meal but also friendship and camaraderie. Operating solely on volunteers and donations, Saturday Noon Meals meets a need in our community to provide hungry individuals & families with a meal.
The pandemic has led to major changes in Saturday Noon Meals. Kathy and Phil Lombardo now run it along with help from others at Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC). Meals are no longer served at CUMC. They are put in containers and transported over to the Salvation Army. Once the Landing finds a spot, they may be the ones where the homeless go to gather for the meal. In the meantime, the meals are prepared at CUMC, then transported.
