Registration for Chalice Camp 2019 is now CLOSED

Chalice Camp is First UU – Rochester’s summer day camp. It runs Monday, June 24-Friday, June 28 from 9 am to 5 pm, with extended day offerings if needed.

This year’s curricula is based on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. This modified UU Chalice Camp curricula, written by Karen Hager, has campers forming Dumbledore’s army and fighting seven real-world “Horcruxes”, such as Illiteracy, Hunger, Poverty, Animal Cruelty, and more using our UU Seven Principles. Campers will learn how social justice can help fight the real world “Horcruxes” we face today while having fun with a FANTASTICally Hogwarts theme.

  • Cost of camp for the week is $100/child, with discounts given for multiple children from the same family. Scholarships are also available as needed.
  • There is an overnight on Thursday for all campers following a family and church friends fellowship dinner.
  • Sunday, June 23 will be our Chalice Camp kick-off service, followed by counselor training. There are also multiple opportunities to volunteer, so watch for the sign-up.
