Our church supports Family Promise, the only organization providing shelter for families experiencing homelessness.
In 2025 they opened a larger shelter- Promise House, located at 1621 10th ST SE with a much larger staff to address this issue.
Our congregation supports Family Promise through an annual shared plate as well as participation in various fundraisers the organization has during the year.
Now that the program has settled into their new space, volunteers are again being utilized. There are a wide variety of volunteer jobs.
Those wanting to interact with the families are required to undergo a background check and complete online training. Bethany Moen is the current volunteer coordinator. You can contact her by email- bethany@fprochestermn.org or phone 507-281-3122 ext. 404.
Check out their website to see the many ways you can help, from cleaning rooms when families exit the program; on call babysitting; doing activities on weekends with the children or during Life Skills classes; driving people to appointments, buying needed supplies, or organizing donations … the list goes on.
