The Unitarian Universalist Coming of Age program for youth in grades 9 and up is roughly equivalent to other denominations’ confirmation. Rather than pledging themselves to one particular dogma, however, our youth are encouraged and supported as they clarify their own beliefs. The youth are paired with adults who mentor them in their journey of developing awareness and service to others.

An important part of the program is the development of a personal faith statement. At the end of the year the youth plan and lead a Coming of Age service on Sunday morning during which they present their faith statements to the congregation.
